Sendy Santamaria is an illustrator, designer, and muralist from San Diego currently based in Oakland, California. Recently, she is has been designing hand-painted and neon signs for small businesses in San Francisco through the SF Shines grant program.

Sendy grew up along both sides of the border between San Diego and Tijuana and spent a lot of time daydreaming on the San Diego Blue Line trolley. Her work celebrates everyday narratives and Chicanx culture. She is inspired by migration, perseverance, pigeons and love. She received her BFA in Illustration from California College of the Arts. She enjoys storytelling with multiple mediums. Sendy is the author/illustrator of a new bi-lingual children’s book Yenebi’s Drive to School (Chronicle Books 2023). sendysantamaria.com
