Nick Vedros, Lumi Neon Museum
“I put four sides around an idea.”
Known globally for his creativity and amazing ability to bring a concept to life, Nick Vedros boasts a four-decade-long award-winning career in commercial photography. In 1987 Vedros was asked by Eastman Kodak to be one of three American Photographers to replace Ansel Adams in testing Kodak’s films. He was asked to join the Hasselblad University faculty and was chosen by Eastman Kodak to lecture throughout the United States, China, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, New Zealand, and Australia. In 1995 Nick was honored as one of the prestigious 55 outstanding image makers program called “Explorers of light for Canon”. He continued speaking throughout the country educating professionals and students alike for 18 years. He has been recognized internationally as one of the world’s Top 200 Advertising Photographers with clients ranging from Apple and Capital One to Sony and Coca-Cola. In 2013 Vedros was asked to create an immersive photographic celebration for the Nelson Atkins 80th anniversary. His images were projected from floor to ceiling on every wall in the exhibition hall, to a crowd of 500 donors. In 2015 Vedros’s portrait series “Faces of Change” behind prison walls photography exhibit hung at the prestigious Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. His exhibit was noted as one of the top 10 winter 2015 exhibits in America by American Photo magazine.
In 2017 Nick began a non-profit 501(c)3: The LUMI Neon Museum.
In 2018 he was one of 10 living photographers to be included in the Portrait Americana exhibit at the Albrecht Kemper Museum.
Nick continues his assignment work and personal projects throughout America.
